Boston

2025 was the year during which SWEA Boston instituted Årets Bea. This annual award is
based on Årest Svenska Kvinna, and given to a woman/a group of women who does or has
done outstanding work to support Swedish language and Swedish culture in New England. It
could be a SWEA or other women in the region. The board decided to give the members of the
first board the honor the initial time. The recognition was presented during the annual meeting
in February. Moving forward, members were encouraged to nominate each other for the award
with a statement.
